“Why People Can’t Fly” by Vasily Klyukin

“Why People Can’t Fly” by Vasily Klyukin and Zurab Ermilov. This large art installation will be exhibited at the art festival in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada on August 25 – September 2, 2019. “Why People Can’t Fly” represents a mixed-media sculpture depicting a child hanging upside down, who is anchored by colorful glass balloons laying on the ground. Each balloon is filled with trash, mostly plastic waste collected from over 150 countries. In addition to drawing everyone’s attention to plastic pollution, this art installation represents a baggage of worries and problems that drag people down and don’t let them feel they can fly. Really impressive!
