Arts of the American West Auction at Hindman Denver
On November 7,
Hindman will host an important live auction in Denver, CO. Titled “Arts of the
American West,” it will feature 500 lots of Western art, decorative arts, Southwestern
jewelry, pueblo pottery, Native American weavings, and other objects. Among the
highlights are works by Bob Kuhn, Joseph Henry Sharp, Emil J. Bisttram, Fritz
Scholder, Harold von Schmidt, Edgar Payne, Harvey Dunn, Vance Kirkland, and
other historic artists. Auction items will be available to preview at Hindman
Denver on November 2-6. Here are some of our favorites:
· “Ditch Workers” (1931) by Joseph
Henry Sharp; oil on canvas – estimated at $50,000-70,000;
· “High Plains Lothario” by Bob Kuhn; oil on board – estimated at $70,000-90,000;
