Banksy’s “Devolved Parliament” Was Sold for a Record $12.2 million

The elusive street artist Banksy has set a new record price for his work, with his 2009 oil painting “Devolved Parliament” sold at Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Evening Auction for a staggering $12.2 million, almost five times exceeding its high estimate. The art auction was held in London on October 3 and raised a total of $67.3 million. Another highlight of the sale was “Pyro” by Jean-Michel Basquiat, which was also sold for $12.2 million.
