Russian Icon of the Crucifixion
Russian icon of the Crucifixion,
with the Passions of Christ and selected Church Feasts from the private collection.
It was created in the third quarter of the 19th century in Palekh, the
most famous icon painting center of the Russian Empire. The centerpiece of the
icon features the scene of Crucifixion, painted in a complex and original
manner, which is surrounded by the great Church Feasts and the
Passion narrative.
