of the Balkans, also known as Paraskeva Pyatnitsa and Paraskeva the Serbian. St. Paraskeva
was an ascetic
saint of
the 10th century. In the icon, she is depicted surrounded by Jesus Christ, the
Mother of God, Saint Nicholas, Theodosius of the Caves, the Holy Great
Martyr Barbara, Pelagia the Martyr, and Saints Cosmas and Damian of Asia. The icon is in the collection of the Arkhangelsk Museum in Russia.
