Antique Serbian icon of Saint Tryphon of Campsada. Saint Tryphon was a 3rd-century saint who acquired fame as a healer, especially of animals. He was one of the Holy Unmercenaries, meaning that he did not accept payment for good deeds. About the year 250, Saint Tryphon was tortured and beheaded after converting the heathen prefect Licius. In the Eastern Orthodox Church, the saint is venerated as a patron of gardeners, winegrowers, and birds.
