Icon of the Mother of God “The Blessed Womb”

16th-century icon of the Mother of God “The Blessed Womb” from the collection of the Armoury Chamber in Moscow. It is one of three surviving copies of the original icon dated to 1392, which was preserved in the Annunciation Cathedral and, unfortunately, lost in the early 20th century. The only thing that remained from the original icon of the Mother of God “The Blessed Womb” is a precious oklad that now covers the copy.
