Antique Greek Icon of Saint Andrew

Antique Greek icon of Saint Andrew, painted in the 14th century. The icon depicts Andrew the Apostle holding a scroll and is distinguished by its mustard yellow background and unusually bright colors used to depict the saint’s robe. Most likely, it was once placed on the upper tier of a church iconostasis, forming a group of icons with Christ at the center. This beautiful antique Greek icon is now in the collection of the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, MD.
