19th-Century Icon of the New Testament Trinity

Early 19th-century icon of the New Testament Trinity from Central Russia. This type of the Triune God iconography is known as “The Enthronement.” The Father and the Son are depicted sitting side by side on a throne, while the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove is shown floating above their heads. This beautiful icon also features border scenes with the images of the Four Evangelists and selected feasts.
