The Volokolamsk Icon of the Mother of God

The Volokolamsk icon of the Mother of God from the iconostasis of the Dormition church of the Joseph Volokolamsk Monastery. This is a copy of the famous icon of Our Lady of Vladimir, which was brought to the monastery from Zvenigorod in 1572. The copy is distinguished by the two additional images of the Metropolitans of Moscow, Saint Gerontius and Saint Cyprian, depicted to the left and to the right of the Mother of God. The Volokolamsk icon is believed to be wonderworking.
